Rose balls

To make Rose balls we need:
  • Styrofoam balls
  • Crape paper
  • glue (I used hot glue sticks and a glue gun)
  • scissors

cut 30-40 centimeters strips, crumple them up

make a flower twisting and turning the strips, as shown in the pictures below

when paper roses are ready, glue them on the foam balls

I glued a bow and hanged. Kids loved it!

If you do not have foam balls, you can use yarn balls instead!

Homemade Plum jam

Very easy way to make a jam. There is no corn syrup or gelatin in it. All natural ingredients.

We need:

  • Plum (blended)
  • Sugar (1 cup sugar for each 2 cups of blended plum)
  • Steamed jars and tin covers
  • Sous  pan
  • Blender
  • 40-50 minutes
Directions:

Wash the plums and separate stones from them.

Blend it

looks awful I know:))

pour it into souspan, add sugar (in the picture 4 cups of blended plum and 2 cups of sugar)

mix in a high heat,  until sugar is melted. Reduce the heat to medium and cook for 10 minutes

simmer another 10 minutes

while the jam is simmering you can sterilize the jars.
How do I usually do it?
Steam each jar 2-3 minutes. And place your lids in a bowl and pour hot water over them.

Jam is ready to can.

fill the sterilized jars with jam...

place them upside down until it cools down completely.

My jars were used jars that's why i made my own labels:))

Decorative Yarn Balls

Kids and myself have had so much fun to make yarn balls during the school vacation.
It's surely "messy" project but the result(!) is surely nice!
you need:
  • balloons
  • Vaseline or  other fatty cream
  • yarn of your choice
  • glue (we used school glue)
  • niddle

1. blow the balloons in a size you want the "balls" to be and spread the Vaseline over it

thread a needle using the yarn of your choice and pass it trough the glue bottle.

wrap the glued yarn around the balloon tightly and let stay for a day (or 15 to 24 hours) to dry

on the next day the yarn should be stiff and hard.
And it's time to pop the balloon!
with a fast move pop the balloon with a needle
(let the kids do it, they love it!)

Decorative Yarn Balls are ready!
